Palin
Dearest fanz, friendz, & familee,
Sorry for the brief hiatus in my blog posts. I got into a very serious pregnancy pact with some girlfriends of mine... with the combination of morning sickness, dealing with the media, and like, having the baby, I was a little busy, ya know? Being preggo in the eggo is real difficult, so I had to be dragged away from my blogging duties...
Well now, SPEAKING pregnancy... I was really interested in what you were saying about Sarah Palin today and the conspiracy about her child and how it might really be Bristol's. I researched the topic and found this very factual and revealing time line about Palin's pregnancy.
In an attempt to bring out the truth, via pop culture, one blogger created this ravishing rendition of the conspiracy theory:

From my own personal experience of with teen pregnancy (oh! right, I'm 20 now... so technically I avoided the teenpreggers. YES!) it is not particularly easy to move around when you have a fat ol' gut. Needless to say... hiking is pretty much nixed from your daily plans. So I don't know what type of hiking Mrs. Palin was doing, but I don't know if I believe her moose crap (get it? like bull crap... but NOT..... because she's ALASKAN).
My own personal opinion you ask me? I think that Sarah Palin was trying to save her daughter's reputation as not to tarnish the family name because she planned to work with DISNEY. Yes, Disney. Since Disney is so wholesome and is based on family values, Sarah had an image to upkeep to be able to film this movie about her life...
I would go see it.
That's all for tonight my friendz, motherhood is calling.
Goodnight,
Dark Stranger.
p.s. the above falacy about my pregnancy... not true. Although I do think it would be funny if there was a conspiracy theory in Geneseo about me faking a pregnancy for someone. Suez maybe...

They call me 'Stacy'
okay so we all know I've been recently obsessed with "That's Not My Name" by the Ting Tings... but I have a serious confession... I'm out of control obsessed with this song:
I can't help it, I just can't. I mean who doesn't swoon at "I found the letter you wrote me/it still smells just like you/damn those sweet memories..."
God Jesse McCartney stop turning me into a tween on the eve of my non-teen-hood. But at the same time, I finished filing my FAFSA today so I'm allowing myself unlimited plays of this song. God help me when I find the song that I'll reward myself with after filing my taxes...
In other news, I am making one of these soon...
I want to have this in my living room someday soooo badly!
also one of these:

for more inspiration/Dutch furniture we can't afford click here.
Also, I finally ordered a copy of The Ballad of Jack and Rose and of course I forgot to have amazon send it to G-seo instead of G-neva dinova...
boo hoo, I'll have to wait a while to bask in the glory that is Paul Dano, Danny Day-Lewis and Camilla Belle all in one movie that is apparently too obscure even for Blockbuster.
A Geography lesson... this is the Genesee Valley:
Remember that time there was a creepy website about "pedosexuals" in the Genesee Valley? check it out here. Genesee Valley Girl Lover, you are a creep:
"What the GVGL wants is for everyone to wonder if they know the GVGL. That’s because the GVGL could be your son. He could be your father. He could be your boy friend. He could be your brother. He could be the sweet grandfather who loves to take his granddaughter to the park. He could be your child’s teacher. He could be the guy who coaches your daughter’s soccer team. He could be one of your employees, or he could be your boss. The GVGL knows hundreds of people in the Genesee Valley, thus hundreds of people in the Genesee Valley know the GVGL. But they don’t know that they know the GVGL."
I mean really... wooooooo (ghost voice), I'm scared.
also, this really is creepy:
"...an unidentified man was caught in a women's bathroom attempting to spy on women taking showers...Because of this most recent incident, we have discovered shower curtains that have been cut (as though to create peep holes) in several buildings..."
WHAT THE FUCK!?!? Glad I live in a suite in this day and age (killers shout out!), be careful over there in Steuben.
In other, more important and less disturbing news, my beloved Felice Brothers are coming back upstate soon and I can't wait to see them. You can stream their newest single here... just picture tons of crowd participation, meaning they sing "Well I'm down..." and we all scream "DOOOOWWWWWN!" at the top of our lungs.
Oh also this really happened to Claire and I and I was just reading a review of the show we went to after Halloween, and this review also had pictures and this one is involved:

DANC 101: Intro to Dance
This post is mostly about dance,
but also about x-pression, Michelle Obama, humans, and Professor J. J. McCausland. Firstly, choose one of these dance themed songs to listen to while you read this:
(hahaha, luv u The Killers, luv u Lady Gaga!)
Now, I would like to offer up a sampling of our dancing greatest hits, if you will:

this is you dancing in your dorm room with cameron (feat. your tongue.)

this is me that same night. note my outfit due to a sleepover in maureen's room.

the quality of this is awful, but this is you dancing on probably Wadsworth Street. I wasn't there.

this is me dancing outside in the Fall. note the similarity of our dance poses.

this is me dancing on the Livingston County Court House's porch. Candice was there too.

this is me dancing at Fly Day...

while you drum along.

this is you dancing at Fly Day (feat. 3D-design-kid-on-acid and girl-wearing-only-a-bra.)

this is you dancing in Utica (feat. Zach Ligas)

this is us dancing in the snow.

this is me dancing in the snow. (feat. Bruna)

this is you dancing/posing on the pavilion.
this was before we were past the acquaintances phase.

this is us dancing. (feat "W" for Walrus, worst nickname of 2k8)

this is a tricky one. if you look closely in the middle you can see Maureen, Ciaran, Candice and me dancing in Cam's suite, exposed over Fly Day Book Club.

this is you and Cam dancing to probably Peaches (feat my dancing hand).

this is a really cute picture of (from left to right) Mike, Courtney, you, Candice and me dancing.
BONUS GLOBAL DANCING SECTION:

this is you dancing in Ecuador with an American flag wrapped around your bod.

this is me dancing at Tantra in Accra, Ghana.

(hahaha, luv u The Killers, luv u Lady Gaga!)
Next, I would like to share the newest addition to "young girls dancing to generic pop songs in youtube videos":
(thank you Suez for the tip.)
its true, "MAH HANZ R IN PERMANENT PEACE SIGN." (feat. Reen and Slip)

I mean, who can deny the importance of the dances to the following songs:
Thriller
The Macarena
The Cupid Shuffle
Soulja' Boi
Kids
1, 2, Step
Just last month, Suez and I had a private dance session to Lipgloss. I think this is the first time anyone else besides the two of us is learning about it... whoops, sorry Suez. And who can forget us seriously going all out to Single Ladies at your house!?
What I mean to say is that many a good time owes itself to some solid grooving, and to the art of dance I am grateful.
Also, I know virtually everyone has seen the video of Barack dancing on Ellen, but check out foxy Michelle:
She's so hot and awesome.
In other news, I need these cage heel hooker shoes:

And finally, if I don't get into Intro to Dance or Method-Body Conditioning For Dance this Friday when drop-adds start, shit is gonna go down. Wish me luck ;).
That's all she wrote. Reunited soon.

Happy One Month Anniversary!
for your listening pleasure:
I'm going through an insatiable Tough Alliance phase... anyway...
Happy one month anniversary to Immigrant Ship!!! As you declared so well one month ago, Great Lord, Immigrant Ship is "our minds (blogified.)" I think we've accomplished just that. We've tackled such subjects as crack addiction, allergy-causing dust bunnies, where one should properly wear one's pants, dude bros, samsara is nirvana, fat dogs, inner-city crime, robots, bottle cap art and of course immigration versus emigration. I made that one up.
Oh also we talked at length about shiny pants/leggings... I must admit, I caved in and bought some lame black leggings. I just had to do it. And I love them, although they sometimes make me feel like a dominatrix:
and sometimes Joan Jett:
and the ever-fabulous Rihanna:
also, that one time, her boots were part of her pants.
also, today, I was reading about how men wearing skirts is becoming really socially acceptable, which begs the question: Are shiny black leggings okay for men too?
My vote is a solid no.
In other, more important news: as I type I am powering up and syncing my TomTom so that tomorrow I may find my way to you, Great Lord (Dark Stranger), with ease...!!!
See you tomorrow!

disco ball mouse.
number one Christmas Gift of 2k8: A light-up disco ball mouse. I mean I picked it out, but I seriously love it and am using it currently. It looks a little something like this:

thank u, Mom (you also rule for buying me the last two packs of polaroid film in Geneva).
In other news, I think you need this for your newly decorated room:

They're freaking awesome and look cool and are cool and I want you to have them. Unfortunately I've been saving them for a couple of days and now I can't find the link to the designer. Oh wait, I just did. Here.
I also think you might need these knife hooks:
also, someday my prince charming will buy me this lamp:

I know this picture is really small, but click here and check it out. I need it. Badly. Anthropologie also has some ridiculously awesome wallpaper, which I know you are banned from using but a girl can dream, can't she?

and this dress:

I mean Anthropologie, can you just donate one of everything to me? I just love pretty much every single thing you make. Like, check out this coat rack:

and this dress:

I mean, hellooooooo! Anyway, enough gushing about things I can not afford.
furthermore, I think this is something you should really think about while doing over your room. It's obviously really important... hahaha.
Finally, a few weeks ago I was checking out at Old Navy and the flamboyantly gay cashier said that he liked my glasses and that I looked like I was, "straight from Portland, Oregon or something." I was puzzled because I have never been to Portland and I had no clue what my glasses had to do with such a place.
Then the other day it all became clear to me when I read that Portland recently named itself the "beard-iest" city in America. He must've thought I had a beard. Maybe he needs glasses.

that's all for now
Merry Christmas to you and your hipster dust bunnies.

ps. "A beard is a bullshit filter. It keeps me from working at lame places and interacting with lame people."
pps. I realized when I halfway started cleaning out my room today that I always find some pretty interesting/kooky things when I deep clean my room. I think you should share with us the weirdest things you found in your room overhaul.

Dust Bunnies
Dear Pure Foreigner,
That little girl is so cute! She knows more of the dance than you even. I've been trying to convince everyone at home to learn the dance with me, but no one wants to! Rage.
Anyway I'm sorry I haven't written in awhile. I've been busy cleaning my room, moving everything out, dusting, getting ready to paint, etc. It's proven to be a bigger project than I thought it would. I've had some serious allergy attacks from moving everything out, especially my rug.
Dear dust bunnies, It's me, Dark Stranger.
I'm allergic to you, and you suck terribly.
h8 u

luv u alt-dust bunnies

I found this fantastic wallpaper that I want to put in my room, but my parents tell me I can't put it up. Something about "devaluing the house, blahblahblah" I think it's pretty sweet:

Anyway that's all I have for now. I'm off to prepare to paint.
xoxo,
Powerful Master (Mysterious Outsider)
